We are delighted to add this eccentric Art Nouveau octopus lamp from the workshop of Hertz & Ballin to our collection. Mogens Ballin was one of Denmark’s leading metalwork masters creating everyday objects in powerful Jugenstil forms, and influencing Georg Jensen among others.

In unpolished pewter with makers marks to the underside, three octopi flank the flared base with their tentacles reaching up the body. Wired with an ivory braided cord.

Measures approx. 33cm high including lamp holder with a 15cm wide base
