Antique Japanese Meiji Period Bronzed Leaf Candlestick
A late 19th century Japanese folded leaf spill vase or candle holder, daintily detailed, clearly made by an artisan with skill. The heavy metal is richly aged to a deep red-brown, the leaf is cleverly suspended by three vines and has two holes as if nibbled by snail that sits on the base. Even a tiny ladybird is hidden in its folds. A very charming, quality piece.
Measures approx. 17cm high with an 8cm long base
