Antique Oversized Carved Alabaster Plafonnier
Of magnificent proportions with a dish diameter of 60cm, a carved alabaster plafonnier c.1920. A grand and weighty piece, it would suit a large space. Sourced from Sweden, certainly continental in origin, it likely graced a large residence or heritage commercial building. Intricately carved in pale and earthy toned alabaster, foliate details circle the rim while an ochre brown braided rose and thick hangers suspend the dish.
Three bulbs sit flush within the dish, with some naturally occurring cracks and age related wear. Not pristine, but still very beautiful, further images happily supplied upon request.
