ANTIQUE REPOUSSÉ AGED BRASS CUSHION MIRROR

£0.00
Spoken For

A richly decorated pressed, aged brass 'repoussé' mirror, French in origin and dating from the mid 19th century during the reign of Emperor Napoleon III. With canted, lightly foxed mirror edges surrounding a central bevelled mirror, and a mirror-backed crest to the top. The decoration is typically Rococo with scroll, acanthus and fruit motifs.
All elements are original, with a wood backing, and the crest attached to the main with an iron brace. The condition is good for a piece of such age, with no cracks to the mirror, only a small piece of the crest mirroring has become detached, and the pins which also secure the crest have loosened over time but the brace still holds the piece firmly together. A lovely example of an ever-popular style.

Measures 60cm x 33cm x with a 3cm projection

Due to the delicate nature of this piece we would not recommend International Shipping
