An utterly charming pencil sketch portrait, likely modelled on a classical sculpture. Drawn by a talented hand in a loose manner with easy precision and signed ‘Lydie’.
The framing is just as charming, with the slim ebonised wood frame being slightly too large for the sketch, and upon closer inspection the surface of the paper has collected some years of minor blemishing. We decided it wears its imperfections so well it would be a shame to change it now for a flawless, more modern and infinitely less characterful framing.
