Pair of Finnish Silver Pewter Fan Fluted Candle Sconces
Sourced from Sweden but likely Finnish c.1950 after Paavo Tynell, a pair of polished silver pewter tapered fan candle sconces, gently fluted to better cast candlelight. An elegant pair with lightly etched zig-zag banded wave detail, and though unmarked their simplicity of form suggests an evolution from earlier more stylised pieces. The perfect light touch decorative addition.
Hung to the reverse by original metal hooks, there are some light marks and indents to the soft metal in places but of the type to add interest rather than to detract.
Att. Finland, c.1950
Approx. dimensions: H 28cm x W 16cm x D x 5.5cm
