Silver Plated Candle Sconce Vanity Mirror c.1910
A continental silver plated tilting vanity mirror, either for the table or wall mounted. The decoratively formed stand holds two swinging candle sconces and a second horizontal mirror. Sourced from Sweden and described as Gustavian in style, there is a lot of detail to admire as well as one’s reflection.
Nicely aged and perfectly functional, with a little clouding to the main mirror plate but clear enough for proper use. Ball details finish its the slender curls, with the sconce arms having a little more tarnish to their etched surface. Wire hung to the reverse at some point after its manufacture, we have left it strung as its last owner obviously preferred it hung.
