Vintage Art Nouveau Silver Plated Candelabra
Sourced from the Netherlands and with an impressive height of 53cm, this style of candelabra was variously produced over the 20th century but we believe this to be an earlier Jugendstil Bäckhaus Solingen piece.
Its seven naturalistic, ribbon-like arms are suspended above a round base, formed from a silver plated brass lightly polished but with patination commensurate with significant age. Later similar pieces by Kurt Jesch for Fratelli Tonini are occasionally described as Brutalist, regardless of design genre it is a strikingly original centrepiece that remains ever-popular.
