Vintage Murano Rostrato Glass Quatrefoil Pendant Chandelier
Another splendid Murano glass chandelier, likely by Barovier & Toso, this time with a rostrato and bullicante scallop edge glass central cupola which holds the light fitting, surrounded by two twist quatrefoil arms and suspended by a long twist glass stem. The glass pieces are all connected by original aged brass fittings and create an elegant yet dramatic silhouette.
The glass is in very good vintage condition with light wear but no discernible chips or cracks, and the fittings are nicely aged (with only one brass screw having lost part of its head but this is not perceptible when hung). A hand made piece, the cupola sits slightly off centre, and the fluted glass rose which holds the wiring has a slightly darker tint to the clear glass of the rest of the piece, but overall the impression is of a beautiful combination of techniques executed by masters of the craft.
Measures approx. 99cm long, 43cm at its widest point, with the cupola at 18cm in diameter
PAT tested by a qualified electrician, must be fitted by a qualified electrician.
Comes with aged brass hanging chain, can be fitted with an ivory braided cord if required.
