Vintage Pair of Large Double Arm Mirrored Girandoles
A mid-century pair of continental bevelled mirror girandoles, each with two silver metal branched candle holder arms in the French Empire style. Chain hung with an interesting silhouette, the mirrors are kept to their wooden backs (possibly varnished oak) by two crystal headed screws.
The mirror plate is mostly clear, with some subtle streaked foxing running along the outer edges, and a foxed patch to the bottom tip of one. Some tarnish and bend to the soft metal of the arms, some stubborn traces of green candle wax to the interiors, but they wear their markers of age and use well.
Each measures approx. 32cm long by 24cm wide. The position of the arms and is adjustable depending on preference, but each measures approx. 9cm long
