Pair of Swedish Pewter Candle Sconces att. Nils Fougstedt
A pair of Svenskt Tenn pewter candle sconces c.1935 attributed to Nils Fougstedt, whose decorative objects remain well sought after. Pared back in design with a simple brass trim to the triple scallop top edge, mirrored in the scalloped upright base. Beautifully fluted, gently tapered, and lightly polished to preserve the patina of age.
Hung by two brass hooks to the reverse below which sits the enigmatic ‘H.R.J’ monogram of a previous owner. Marks commensurate with age include a small shallow dent to the body of one and light scratch to the base of the other as pictured, but nothing that detracts when hung.
Each measures approx. 27.5cm long by 13cm wide with a 4.5cm projection
