Spoken For

A glazed, wood framed and mounted abstract free-form pencil on paper portrait sketch, stamped ‘ATELIER Raymond TRAMEAU’.

Trameau (b. Paris 1897 - d. 1895), was a French artist associated with the Musicalism Movement which sought to parallel colour and form in art with musical arrangement in expression of emotion. Likely a mid-century piece, there are some marks to the wood frame and a staple mark can be seen in the upper left hand corner, perhaps indicating its origin as a study for a painted piece.

Measures 37cm x 32.5cm
