Vintage Spanish Acanthus Martini Table 03
The third of these Spanish martini tables with rarer acanthus detail to the stem that has passed through our hands, this having the widest top yet at 30cm in diameter. The top is rimmed with a ‘piecrust’ edge, and there is a light wave etching to the surface, which is mirrored on each of its three scrolled feet.
Interestingly this example has a zig-zag pattern to the stem, which is circled by the three acanthus leaves towards the base. The original gilt surface had been ‘ebonised’ prior to our acquisition, and we have tided it slightly for a more even finish, which has a light sheen.
As always a very useful, very handsome accent table.
Measures approx. 60cm high with a 30cm diameter top and a 31cm diameter base
