Swedish Pewter Swan Arm Sphere Lamp

£0.00
Spoken For

A glorious Swedish silver pewter table lamp c.1936, with makers mark ‘Svenkst Tenn Handarbete K8 7’ stamped to the base. Of good proportions, its spherical body is flanked by two swans and sits on a stepped rounded base with four scalloped feet. Its rounded cap has been given a sympathetic nickel lamp holder and is wired with an ivory braided cord.

We have left it unpolished, but even so the dull silver pewter surface reflects a soft glow when illuminated. With plenty of unique character, the soft metal has both patina, with marks commensurate with age, and a small dent to the front and a larger one to the back. The cap become a little misshapen over time, soldered to affix a previous lampshade cage which has now been replaced so any shade can be used. Some loose solder remains inside (explaining its quirky little rattle).

Measures approx. 32cm high including lamp holder, with a 22cm diameter body and a 14.5cm diameter base

Please note shade is not included
