Vintage Pair of French Plaster Shell Sconces

£0.00
Spoken For

A magnificent pair of Art Deco French plaster sconces c.1940 in the manner of Serges Roches. With a patina commensurate with their age they are a highly decorative pair, heavy and beautifully defined.

Wear includes some historic interventions, including a repaired break that thankfully has left a minimal impression, and a few patches of later plaster applied in parts. Slight yellowing to the sides is apparent in places, and one of the original hanging hooks has been replaced with a new hook to the reverse.

Solid (each weighing 2.2kg) and of great proportions they make an impressive pair.

Each measures approx. 29cm by 29cm with a 12cm projection
